Solar Plane Pioneers Lay out Round-the-World Flight Plan |

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates — The founders of a Swiss-made solar-powered aircraft that is attempting to fly around the world say their journey will include stops inIndia, China and the United States after it takes off as early as next month.
Solar Impulse sponsors Bertrand Piccard and Andre Borschberg announced the stopovers Tuesday as they laid out their planned flight path for the first time in Abu Dhabi.
The United Arab Emirates capital will serve as the start and end point of their five month journey, which will take of in late February or early March.
The OPEC nation has invested heavily in alternative energy sources in recent years. Abu Dhabi government's clean-energy company Masdar is one of the project's sponsors.
